Frequently Asked Questions
How ADRESO Works
So what happens with my address once I register?
Once you register, say with username “sarah”. Automatically ADRESO.com creates your personal ADRESO page under the URL sarah.ADRESO.com. You can give this URL as your postal address to friends and family, even write it in your presentation cards, registration forms, resumes, etc. in the knowledge that never again will you have to send out “change of address” notifications. Anyone wanting to contact you next month, or in fifteen years time, all they will have to do is go to sarah.ADRESO.com, and there will be your uptodate postal address!
I want an Username that is already gone, what can I do?
If you want an user name such as Paul in order to procure the ADRESO paul.ADRESO.com and it is already taken, you must choose a different User. As you must understand there cannot be two ADRESOs the same. You can try to obtain an unique ADRESO by adding a number, for example, paul1980 or paul_24. You can also use your surname such as paul.jones or pauljones. Please note you can only use letters, numbers and the symbols “_” and “.”. Capitals and lower letters are interchangeable, such that PaulJones is exactly the same as pauljones.
General
Where does the name ADRESO come from?
The word “adreso” comes from Esperanto. It simply means “Address”.
Esperanto is the most widely spoken constructed international auxiliary language. The name derives from Doktoro Esperanto, the pseudonym under which L. L. Zamenhof first published the Unua Libro in 1887. The word itself means 'one who hopes'. Zamenhof's goal was to create an easy and flexible language as a universal second language to foster peace and international understanding. (Source : www.wikipedia.org)
